Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using the LocalCard website, platform, membership card and related services. By using LocalCard you agree to comply with this policy.

2. Permitted use

You may use LocalCard to:

  • Access member discounts and offers from partner businesses
  • Manage your membership account and digital card
  • Vote for local charities (subject to eligibility)
  • Contact LocalCard with genuine enquiries

3. Prohibited use

You must not use LocalCard to:

  • Share your membership card or credentials with others
  • Attempt to obtain discounts or benefits you are not entitled to
  • Submit false or misleading information in any form or application
  • Impersonate another person, business or organisation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform or its services
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest or extract data
  • Engage in any unlawful activity through the platform
  • Harass, abuse or threaten LocalCard staff, partners or other members

4. Business partners

Business partners must not use the LocalCard platform to advertise offers that are misleading, unavailable, or not genuinely available to LocalCard members. Partners must honour their stated offers and comply with all applicable consumer protection laws.

5. Charities and community organisations

Organisations registered with LocalCard must provide accurate information about their activities and use of any community pot funds. Misrepresentation may result in removal from the platform and recovery of any funds received.

6. Enforcement

LocalCard reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the platform for any user, business partner or organisation found to be in breach of this policy. We may report serious breaches to relevant authorities.

7. Reporting misuse

If you become aware of misuse of the LocalCard platform, please contact us. We take all reports seriously.

8. Changes to this policy

LocalCard may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
