LocalCard operates the localcard.co.uk website and the LocalCard membership platform. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

  • Business name, contact details and address (business partner applications)
  • Organisation details (charity registrations)
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details)

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

  • Process and manage your membership or application
  • Issue and manage your digital membership card
  • Process payments via Stripe
  • Send you service communications (confirmations, receipts, updates)
  • Send marketing communications where you have opted in
  • Improve the LocalCard platform and services
  • Comply with legal obligations

We process your data on the basis of: contract performance (to provide your membership); legitimate interests (to operate and improve our platform); consent (for marketing communications); and legal obligation (where required by law).

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with: Stripe (payment processing); PassKit or similar providers (digital membership card issuance); service providers who assist us in operating the platform, under appropriate data processing agreements.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Membership data is retained for the duration of your membership and for a reasonable period thereafter.
