Charity and Voting Rules

Last updated: August 2026

Important notice

The community pot and voting system is being developed. These rules will be updated before any voting round opens. Registration does not guarantee funding or inclusion in any voting round.

1. The community pot

Part of every LocalCard membership fee contributes to the local community pot. The exact amount and allocation method will be published before the first voting round opens.

2. Charity eligibility

To be considered for the community pot, organisations must:

  • Operate primarily within the relevant LocalCard postcode area
  • Be a registered charity, CIC, or recognised community organisation
  • Pass LocalCard's verification and due diligence process
  • Agree to LocalCard's charity partner terms

3. Voting eligibility

Active LocalCard members will be eligible to vote. Minimum membership duration requirements and other eligibility criteria will be published before voting opens.

4. Voting process

Voting rounds, duration, and the method of fund allocation will be published transparently before each round. LocalCard reserves the right to disqualify votes that appear fraudulent or in breach of these rules.

5. Fund allocation

Funds will be allocated based on voting results, subject to LocalCard's discretion and any minimum thresholds. LocalCard reserves the right to withhold funds if an organisation is found to have provided inaccurate information or breached these rules.
